Follow these 10 easy steps and you're guaranteed to meet your fundraising goal!

  1. Register for the Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida as an Individual or Team Member. Walking or rolling with a team is more fun, and makes it easier to raise money.

  2. Set a fundraising goal. Remember this is a goal, not a commitment. Aim high!

  3. Make a donation to yourself. This will set the standard for donations to follow, so make it as generous as you can.

  4. Personalize your Personal and/or Team Page to build enthusiasm and fundraise more effectively. See additional fundraising instructions here.

  5. Ask! Ask! Ask! Remember, if you don’t ask, they can’t donate! Send out letters, emails, and social media posts asking colleagues, friends, family and acquaintances to support you with a donation to Walk-N-Roll.

  6. Don't be afraid to remind people to donate. People often want to donate, but just forget, so keep reminding them. Asking on an individual basis gets the best response.

  7. Individually message your Facebook friends and ask them to donate. Include a few sentences to say hello and explain why the SBA is important to you and why you need their support.

  8. For those who aren't on social media send out old fashioned letters asking for support. In your letter add a picture of the person you're participating in honor of and share why this cause is close to your heart. Include a pre-stamped and addressed return envelope with the offline donation formThe easier you make it for people to donate the more likely they will!

  9. Collect donations online and offline. Use the offline donation form to send offline credit card donations and checks to the National Office or bring it with you to the Walk-N-Roll event. Add your offline donations to your webpage so that you can easily keep track of your fundraising total. Remember that cash can only be turned in at the Walk-N-Roll event.

  10. Thank your donors. Give them a shout-out on social media. This will help generate additional donations and raise awareness of your fundraising campaign.
