Is the Walk-N-Roll timed?
No, the Walk-N-Roll is not a timed event. We encourage everyone to take their time on the one-mile route and enjoy the morning.
Are pets allowed at the Walk-N-Roll?
In some circumstances, pets are not allowed. They must always be on a leash and owners are responsible for removal of pet waste. Please check the website of the venue where the particular Walk-N-Roll event will be held.
Are strollers and wheelchairs allowed at the Walk-N-Roll?
Yes. Strollers, wheelchairs, and even wagons for the little ones are all welcome.
I may not make it to the Walk-N-Roll venue when Check-In/Registration opens. Can I arrive late?
Yes. Check-in and Registration will be open until the actual walk starts. Please go directly to the check-in area when you arrive. Upon doing so each participant will receive a wrist band. This wristband grants access to all of the walk entertainment, activities, and food. Please see the walk landing page of your particular event for the Walk-N-Roll day-of-event schedule.
Is there a registration fee?
There is no registration fee. However, we ask all participants to raise a minimum of $100 to receive a special edition 2017 Walk-N-Roll t-shirt or Walk-N-Roll baby onesie. How do I get t-shirt on the day of the Walk-N-Roll?
All individuals who raise $100 or more receive their choice of a commemorative Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida t-shirt or Walk-N-Roll baby onesie on the day of the event. Please note that t-shirts and incentives are based on individual fundraising, not team fundraising. All participants who raise a minimum of $25 to their individual fundraising efforts will receive an SB Awareness Car Magnet! Check out the full list of available fundraising prizes HERE!
If I don't pick up my t-shirt on the day of the Walk-N-Roll, may one be mailed to me?
To reduce costs and ensure that more dollars are directed to the mission of the Spina Bifida Association, t-shirts and other fundraising prizes will only be available on the day of the Walk-N-Roll and will not be mailed to participants who are unable to attend the event. SBA will do its best to ensure that those participants who earned a t-shirts will receive a one in the size of their choice. However, when this is not possible, another size may be substituted.

What happens if it rains on the day of the Walk-N-Roll?
Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida is held on the date scheduled "rain or shine".
Am I allowed to run the route?
Yes, you may run. You will want to start out at the front of the pack, as most participants walk or roll. Please be aware of those around you. Please also know that Walk-N-Roll is not a timed event.
What do I need to bring with me on the day of the Walk-N-Roll?
Please bring any donations you have, along with a donation form for each. You can save time on the day of the event by sending in check or credit card donations ahead of time (cash should be converted to check or money order prior to mailing). You will receive a logistics email a couple of days before the event with directions and announcements, so make sure you are registered! Bring chairs or blankets so that you can relax and enjoy the food and festivities after the one mile walk.
Is my information secure?
Yes. The SBA and our fundraising platform provider make every effort to protect your information. We use industry standard SSL-encryption techniques to make sure that your credit card information, passwords and personal information travel securely over the Internet.
Should I start a team or join as an individual?
If you have a friend or family member joining you, please start a team. If you are attending alone, please join as an individual. You don't have to have a team to attend. Teams and individuals are all encouraged to attend. Check out our 2017 Team Captain Guide to be the best Team Leader you can be.
I forgot my username and password. How do I retrieve them?
Remember that your username and password are case sensitive. When logging into your account click the link “Forgot Password?”. You’ll receive an email a link to reset your password. Should I register my kids?
Yes, please register EVERYONE who will attend (even toddlers in strollers). This helps us plan for the day of the event and makes check-in quick and easy when you arrive at the Walk.
I have want to participate but I live too far away from a Walk-N-Roll event. How can I be involved?
Individuals who are unable to attend a walk but still want to show their support can participate in My Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida and recruit teammates. My Walk-N-Roll for SB teams and participants can select any date, time and location that is convenient for them to walk or roll one mile. I have a family member who wants to join my team but may not be able to attend the event. Can they still join my team?
Yes, family members can still support you by joining your team and fundraise as a team member even if they are unable to attend. Individuals who are unable to attend the event but still want to show their support can register as a Virtual Participant. Virtual Participants can select a time and location that is convenient for them to walk or roll one mile on the day of the event. Virtual Participants still accrue prizes that will be mailed out within one month after the event.
Can I start a team with 2 people?
Sure! There is not a minimum number of people required to start a team.
Is there a fee to participate?
This is our largest annual fundraising event. Even though we don't charge people to attend we ask each person to reach out to their friends and family for fundraising support. We encourage every team member to fundraise at least $100. When you raise $25, you'll receive a SB Awareness Car Magnet at check-in! When you raise $100, you'll receive our official 2017 Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida t-shirt or Walk-N-Roll baby onesie -- see the full list of fundraising prizes available HERE. We also help make fundraising easier by providing you with the tools and materials you need to ensure success in building your fundraising team. What is the cut-off to register or join a team?
You can register online up to the day before the event. Please have everyone register as early as possible to give us a good headcount so that we can plan for a better event. Registration is also available on-site the day of the event.
Some of my family would like to come that day, but not walk or roll. Do they need to register?
Please make sure to register each person that will attend (even if they do not walk or roll). Everyone will need to register or check-in when arriving at the walk. Upon doing so each participant will receive a wrist band. This wristband will allow access to all of the Walk-N-Roll entertainment, activities, and food.
If I am registered, do I need to do anything else to be pre-registered?
No, if you are already registered online, you are all set.
Is it better to register online or register the morning of the Walk-N-Roll?

What is a personal fundraising page?
A personal fundraising page is an online promotional tool for you to use when asking your family and friends to join your team or support your fundraising efforts by making a donation. Once you register online, a personal fundraising page will be automatically created for you. You have the option of personalizing this page by logging in and making changes on the Fundraiser Portal. You are able to customize images, text, and the style/layout of the page. Please see the Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida Fundraising Guide for more details.
A personal fundraising page was automatically created for me; do I have to edit it?
Once you sign up for the Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida, a personal fundraising page will automatically be created for you. If you are a Team Captain a team page will also automatically be created for you. We encourage you to personalize your page! A compelling personal page attracts and engages supporters. While you can spread the word using customized email solicitations, your personal page is a great place to show your creative expression, tell your story and talk about your commitment to Spina Bifida and SBA.
How do I change my personal fundraising goal?

How do I change my team name or team goal?
Log into your account using your email and password. You are now in your Fundraiser Portal. Click on the "Your Team's Fundraising" tab. Then select Edit Your Team Page. Here you can make edits to photos videos and text.
How can I see who is on my team?
Log into your account using your email and password. You are now in your Fundraiser Portal. Click on the "Your Team's Fundraising" tab. Then select "View Your Team" on the right side of the page.
Can I enter donations received via check to my webpage?
Yes, please follow the directions below:
Do I have to send in my donations? Can I bring them with me to Walk-N-Roll?
While you can always bring your donations to the Walk-N-Roll, it is preferable that you mail them in as soon as you can. Please visit the "Resources tab in your Fundraiser Portal for all necessary documents and instructions."
What if people want to give me a cash donation?
It is safest and best for record-keeping that you convert all cash received to checks or money orders. If you are able, the safest option is to send a personal check covering the full amount to the Spina Bifida Association along with a donation form detailing each donor's information. We will be able to credit your friends and family for their generosity. If this is not possible, you can also always bring the cash donations and appropriate donation forms with you on the day of the event.
What if my donors don't want to donate online?
You can always have your donors mail their donations to you and then complete and turn in the necessary paperwork.
How long will it take before the checks I mailed appear on my page?
Please allow four weeks for your donations to be deposited, processed, and posted to your web page.
How can I see who has donated to me or who on my team has received donations?

Can I continue to collect donations after the event? Where do I send the checks?
Absolutely! Please click on the "Resources" tab in your Fundraiser Portal for the appropriate paperwork to complete and mailing address.
Will the money turned in on the day of the event appear on my web page and donation report?
Yes. If the corresponding donation forms were filled out and submitted along with your donations on the day of the event, you should see your fundraising efforts reflected on your web page and donation report within four weeks of the event.
I turned in all of my donations on the day of the event but am still waiting for the checks to be processed. What should I do?
All donations to SBA should be deposited, processed, and posted to your webpage within four weeks of the day of the event. If a month or more has passed and you still do not see your donations on your web page, please contact Breanne Walter, National Walk Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org or Kristi Wass, National Walk Manager at email@example.com.
Where do I get donation forms?
Donation forms can be accessed by clicking HERE or within your Fundraiser Portal under the "Resources" tab.
Can I enter check donations to my web page?
Yes. They will appear as pending offline donations. Please submit the corresponding donation forms with checks so you will be credited for your fundraising efforts. Once processed, the donation will show on your webpage. Please send all donations directly to:

Are donations tax-deductible?
Your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by the law. The Spina Bifida Association is a registered 501(c)3 organization. Our tax ID number is 58-1342181.
Who should checks be made payable to?
All checks and money orders should be payable to the Spina Bifida Association.
How will my donation to Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida appear on my credit card statement?
It will be listed as a donation to the Spina Bifida Association.
Are there any fees in addition to the donation amount?
When checking out online a donors have the option to cover the cost of transaction fees of their online donation. If the donor chooses not to cover the 8% transaction fees, then no additional fees will be incurred by the donor. For example if the donor wants to donate $100.00 and not cover the 8% transaction fee, they will be charged $100.00. If a donor wants to donate $100 and also wants to cover the 8% transaction fees they will be charged $108. We encourage all donors to help cover the cost of accepting online donations by opting to cover the 8% transaction fees, allowing more funds to go directly towards the mission of the Spina Bifida Association.
How does the Spina Bifida Association use the donations?
Funds raised by the Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida are used to support the mission of the Spina Bifida Association (SBA) in the local community. I submitted a form for matching gifts but do not see the donation on my page. Where is it?
SBA cannot post a matching gift until the corporation involved approves it and the donation is received. Unfortunately, corporations match gifts on a different timetable during the year. If you have questions regarding your matching gift, please contact your company to see if the donation has indeed been matched. What is the Adaptive Resource Fair?
Our Adaptive Resource Fair features booths of local service providers who are there to talk to you and your family about the products and services they offer. We invite as many organizations and programs as possible to show all of the available local support.
I know a local service that would be a great fit for the Adaptive Resource Fair. How do I get them involved?
We are always looking for new information for our participants. Please talk to them about the event and ask them to visit the Walk-N-Roll web site to learn more about Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida. They can click on "Join the Adaptive Resource Fair" to learn more about becoming a vendor. What should I bring to the Adaptive Resource Fair?
A table and chairs are provided. Feel free to bring a tent and table cloth. Exhibitors are encouraged to bring interactive activities for all ages. Below is a list of activities that have been popular in the past.
I want to volunteer! How can I help?
Please register as a volunteer for the event. Start by clicking the "Volunteer" button on the landing page of your local event. Volunteer options include set-up, clean up, cheerleading, and running a booth. Additional information will be emailed to you within the weeks leading up to the event. All volunteers will receive a volunteer t-shirt to show our appreciation. Thank you in advance for your help!
I want to volunteer with a team. Can register myself online and register te rest of my volunteer team on the morning of the event?
No. Please try and register all volunteers prior to the event. We need each individual volunteer to registered so that we know how many volunteers to plan for and what areas need to be covered.
Can I get a community service sheet for the hours that I volunteer?
Yes. At the end of your volunteer shift, please go back to the volunteer area and speak to the committee or staff member in charge. Please bring all forms that need a signature.
At what time should I arrive and where should I go?
All registered volunteers will receive an email about one week before the event with detailed information including directions, parking, where to go, at what time to arrive and more.
Can my teenager volunteer with me?
Yes. Please be sure you register her or him as a volunteer.
