About VIRTUAL Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida
How long is the Walk-N-Roll route?
Our in-person events generally follow a one-mile, wheelchair accessible route. You're welcome to walk or roll more or less, or celebrate with a different activity all together!
At what time does the Walk-N-Roll start?
We'll be celebrating online all day. Check out our day-of livestream events HERE.
Is the Walk-N-Roll timed?
No, the Walk-N-Roll is not a timed event, and we will not collect your mileage. We encourage you to take your time celebrating with your activity of choice!
I may not make it to the Walk-N-Roll livestream events when they kick off. Can I arrive late?
You are welcome to come and go as you please. Be sure to check out our event schedule of our livestreamed events so you can be sure to catch those that most interest you!
Is there a registration fee?
There is no registration fee. All participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of $150 to receive this year's official Walk-N-Roll t-shirt or Walk-N-Roll baby onesie. All participants who raise a minimum of $50 will receive a Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida wristlet! All donations, no matter how big or small, support many important SBA programs advancing research, education, advocacy, and support. Check out all available fundraising prizes HERE!
How do I get t-shirt on the day of the Walk-N-Roll?
All individuals who raise $150 or more will earn their choice of a commemorative 2020 Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida t-shirt or Walk-N-Roll baby onesie. You must hit this threshold by end of day on 10/25 to qualify. We will distribute shirts and other incentive prizes at a socially-distanced pickup location (details TBA) after event date. Please note that t-shirts and other "individual incentives" are based on individual fundraising, not team fundraising. All participants who raise a minimum of $50 towards their individual fundraising efforts will receive a Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida wristlet! Check out the full list of available fundraising prizes HERE!
If I don't pick up my t-shirt on the pickup day, may one be mailed to me?
To reduce costs and ensure that more dollars are directed to the mission of the Spina Bifida Association, t-shirts and other fundraising prizes will only be available on the designated pickup day and will not be mailed to participants who are unable to attend the event. You may, however, send a designated friend or family member to pick up your prizes for you.
What happens if it rains on the day of the Walk-N-Roll?
Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida is held on the date scheduled "rain or shine". If it's raining in your area on the day of the event, bring the party inside -- need ideas? Just ask your event manager!

Should I start a team or join as an individual?
Both teams and individuals are encouraged to attend! . If you are attending alone, please register as an individual. You do not have to have a team to join us for this fun-filled day! If you have a friend or family member joining you, please start a team. Check out our 2020 Team Captain Guide to be the best Team Leader you can be.

Should I register my kids?
Yes, please register EVERYONE who will attend (even toddlers in strollers). We want to know just how many people we're celebrating World Spina Bifida Day with! These numbers also impact our decision-making on future programming, so by registering your entire family, you're sharing with us that you'd like for us to continue providing services and hosting events in your area!
I want to participate but I live too far away from a Walk-N-Roll event. How can I get involved?
The great news about this virtual-style event is that everyone can participate from anywhere! If there is no Chapter or community group near you, we welcome you to show your support by joining our DIY Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida program! Learn more here.
I have a family member who wants to join my team but may not be able to attend the event. Can they still join my team?
Yes, family members can still support you by joining your team and fundraising as a team member even if they are unable to "attend."
Can I start a team with 2 people?
Sure! Teams of any size are welcome. There is no minimum number of participants required to start a team.
Is there a fee to participate?
This is our largest annual fundraising event. While there is no fee to attend, we ask each person to reach out to their friends and family for fundraising support. We encourage every team member to fundraise at least $150 to help SBA live our mission of building a better and brighter future for all those impacted by Spina Bifida. When you raise $50, you'll receive a Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida wristlet! No, if you already registered online, you are all set.

What if people want to give me a cash donation?
It is safest and best for record-keeping that you convert all cash received to checks or money orders. If you are able, the safest option is to send a personal check covering the full amount to the Spina Bifida Association along with a donation FORM detailing each donor's information. Once we've received the checks or money order from you, we'll credit your page & thank your friends and family for their generosity.
What if my donors don't want to donate online?
You can always have your donors mail their donations to you and then complete and turn in the necessary paperwork. If you have multiple offline donations, use this form and bring it to the walk or mail into the national office for processing.
How long will it take before the checks I mailed appear on my page?
Please allow four weeks for your donations to be deposited, processed, and posted to your web page.
How can I see who has donated to me or who on my team has received donations?
Please check out our Walk-N-Roll Online Fundraising Guide here.
Can I continue to collect donations after the event? Where do I send the checks?

Will the money turned in by mail appear on my web page and donation report?

I turned in all of my donations more than one month ago but am still waiting for the checks to be processed. What should I do?
All donations to SBA should be deposited, processed, and posted to your webpage within four weeks of receipt. If a month or more has passed and you still do not see your donations on your web page, please contact Kristi Wass, National Walk Director, at [email protected].
