About Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida

Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida began in 2009 with an idea. How can we raise awareness about Spina Bifida and also raise funds to provide programs and services to benefit those living with this birth defect? And so Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida was founded.

  • Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida (WNR) is the National Signature event of the Spina Bifida Association

  • WNR is a community awareness and fund raising event which brings together the Spina Bifida community in a positive, meaningful way to celebrate, share, learn, and grow.

  • WNR is powerful tool in Chapter growth, helping to identify and develop relationships with new constituents, sponsors, and volunteer leaders.

Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida has grown from 3 events in 2009 to more than 30 events in 2015. Walk-N-Roll has now raised more than 7.2 million dollars used by Chapters across the country to provide programs and services for all of those effected by Spina Bifida.

What are funds raised at Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida used for? Programs and services vary by Chapter and include:

  • Support Groups

  • Play groups for children

  • Medical equipment

  • Scholarships

  • Education Days (day long educational conferences)

  • NICU education and outreach

  • Emergency assistance

  • Social events for adults and families

  • Summer camps

  • Various online support groups and communities for Parents of children with Spina Bifida and Adults with Spina Bifida.

Thank you for being a part of Walk-N –Roll for Spina Bifida and our continued growth. Volunteers make this event a success.
