No Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida in your area but still want to participate and help advance the mission of SBA? Turn up the Teal with a Do It Yourself Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida at a time and place convenient for you!
What is DIY Walk-N-Roll for SB? If there is not a Walk-N-Roll scheduled in your area, join our national program, DIY Walk-N-Roll for SB. This option allows you to pick a time, date and location that works best for you. And you can still fundraise, generate awareness, and be part of the larger Walk-N-Roll community.
By registering for DIY Walk-N-Roll for SB you will gain access to all of the same fundraising tools and are also eligible for the same fundrasing incentives! Check back for 2019 incentive list. Everyone that raises $150 or more will receive the Official 2019 Walk n Roll T-shirt!
Participants can start a team and invite others to join them or participate as an individual. To meet other DIY Walk-N-Roll for SB participants across the country join our DIY Walk-N-Roll for SB Facebook Group and/or use the hashtag #mywnr4sb.
You won't miss out on a thing, so go ahead and sign up!!
Step 1. Register yourself and start a team for My Walk-N-Roll for SB.
Step 2. Join the “DIY WNR for SB” group on Facebook for inspiration from other participants across the country.
Step 3. Pick a time, date and location that you want to walk or roll. If you're not sure how to find a good location contact the experts at firstname.lastname@example.org or 310-359-9611. (You can walk around your neighborhood with your dog and family or you can invite your 100 closest friends to walk and picnic with you. The walk itself can be as involved or relaxed as you want it to be.
Step 4. Tell everyone you are fundraising! Invite your friends and family join you for DIY Walk-N-Roll for SB at your local park.
Step 5. Ask for donations for your walk and ask your friends to raise funds too. Check out this year’s awesome fundraising prizes HERE.
Step 6. Make a poster and or shirts for your teammates to wear at your Walk-N-Roll.
Step 7. Have a great time at the Walk celebrating those with Spina Bifida, raising awareness and advancing the mission.
Step 8. Share pictures from your event on the Facebook group to be eligible for DIY Walk-N-Roll for SB prizes!
Even though you choose the time, date, and location to walk or roll, all events should take place on or before December 31, 2020 to be a part of this year's campaign. Fundraising prizes will stop being accrued on December 31, 2020 and will be mailed out within a month of this year's event cycle.
Where to the funds go?
Funds raised help support advocacy, research, awareness, education, as well as important programs and services like the Spina Bifida patient registry and SBA's National Resource Center.
