As many of you know, our baby girl Merritt Leigh Davis (due December 28th) was diagnosed with spina bifida (SB) on July 27th. Despite the difficult diagnosis, we are feeling positive and optimistic thanks to some encouraging test results, consultations with SB specialists, and the outpouring of love and support from family and friends like you.
Since Merritt's diagnosis, we have been researching SB, joining online support groups, and looking for ways to get involved. The 2017 Virginia Beach Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida is the biggest fundraiser of the year supporting the Mid-Atlantic Region Chapter of the Spina Bifida Association, so we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to get involved with this wonderful organization.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
There are several ways to get involved/help support our team. We would be honored for our family and friends to:
DONATE!* We would sincerely appreciate donations (of any amount) to help our team reach our fundraising goal. The money we raise will go directly to the SBA to help support local community programs and services for all individuals affected by SB, as well as national awareness, prevention, and research initiatives. Please feel free to donate to ANY of the team members below, as the money all goes to the same place!
WALK WITH US! We invite you to join us in person at the Walk-N-Roll, which will be held at Mt. Trashmore Park in Virginia Beach, VA on October 28th at 9:00AM. YOU DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER SEPARATELY! Just e-mail us at email@example.com to RSVP for the walk, and don't forget to order your T-shirt (more on that below)!
ROCK A SHIRT! On the day of the event, our team will be wearing Miles for Merritt T-shirts (special thanks to Butch Edenton). If you can’t join us at the event, you are still more than welcome to purchase a shirt(s) to show your support! Click here to order shirts. The last day to order shirts is Friday, October 6th. Note: T-shirts are available at cost, and do not include a donation. T-shirts will be brought to the event (for those joining us in person) or mailed via USPS. For those not joining us in person, please include your mailing address in the "private note" field of the online checkout page. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or concerns!
Thank you so very much for your love and support! We cannot wait for Merritt to arrive, and are so excited to introduce her to all of you!
Jenna and Brian
